Customer requirements: We were contacted and asked to provide a quotation for a small tower to be erected at the rear of a block of flats so that our customer could reach the second floor flat to install a flu. This was a very small access tower, and it was only needed for 1 week so our price to supply, erect and dismantle with 7 days hire was £325, (see our scaffolding costs page for more pricing info). This price was within our customers budget, so we were asked to proceed with putting the tower up quickly.
Difficulties and challenges we encountered: There were no difficulties when erecting this structure. Access to the rear was simple and the area where we needed to erect the scaffolding tower was flat with no obstacles in the way.
Work we undertook: Our customer needed to gain access to the second floor flat, so we built a 6-metre-high tower which was 8 foot wide. This access tower was 4 lifts high with only the first and the fourth lift requiring a boarded working platform area. The first lift was 4 scaffold boards wide and had double handrails, toe boards with the additional protection of plastic mesh brick guards that sit inside the handrails. We also installed a ladder gate. The top lift was also 4 boards wide and had full fall protection installed including brick guards around the internal perimeter of the platform. The brick guards were put in place to help prevent debris from falling off the scaffold. A ladder was supplied for the client to be able to gain access from the first lift to the top lift.
Hire term: The installation of the flu was a quick job, so our client only needed to rent the scaffolding tower for one week. Our customer contacted us within the 7 days to request removal of the tower.

We will arrive on time and install the scaffolding ensuring the correct safety measures are put in place for example ladder access, ladder gates etc. When you have finished using the scaffold, give us a call and we will book you in for the dismantle where we will remove all materials and equipment.
