Cost of scaffolding in 2026

One of the most common question we are asked is what are your scaffolding prices?

For a trade or householder, the need to discover how much a company charges for erecting a scaffolding structure is a big deal and before getting your job booked in you need to know exactly what you are getting charged for.

At Brighton scaffolding we have always been open and honest with our customers when it comes to our costs and pricing structures.

We will always provide you with our best and most competitive price for your scaffolding works whilst ensuring you get a safe solution to meet your requirements.

Scaffolding hire can sometimes be expensive, but we believe that you can never put a price on the safety of yourself or employees working at height.

When you have scaffolds erected, you can rest assured that is it the safest way to access those difficult areas that cannot be reached by a ladder or scaffold tower.

How much does scaffold cost in the UK?

Here is a guide of our current scaffolding prices for some of the more common structures that we can erect in the Brighton, Hove and East Sussex areas. **Please note this is purely a guide.** A lot of different factors need to be taken into consideration when pricing a scaffold:

An extra weekly hire can be charged at 5%–10% of the original quotation, depending on the size of the job.

Again, please note that ALL of the prices listed above are only rough guides, and the cost of scaffolding depends on many factors.

Our price list is up to date as of January 2026.

Questions we are occasionally asked

This cost will be included within our quotation as we have to apply for the licence ourselves because one of the stipulations is that you have to have £10million public liability. The Brighton & Hove council latest pavement license prices are as follows:

Under 12 metres – costs from £102 for a 6-week period.

Over 12 metres in size – there will be a charge of £319 for 6 weeks.

We do not charge for our scaffolding on a day to day basis as we offer all our customers a standard 4-6 week hire period, although this can be negotiated if a longer period is required.

It all depends on what type of scaffold needs to be erected, for example certain scaffolds are priced on a metre rate like tree protection fencing or if only a single lift is required, then once we have the meterage needed we can supply our rate for that. E.g. – 40metres @ £18 per metre = £720.

Other scaffolds are priced by how long it would take for us to erect the structure and other things like access, eg how easy is it to get our materials to the place where the structure is required. Each scaffolding framework is different, and each has its own pricing structure whether that be a fixed price or a meter rate.

We most certainly can but it would be helpful if you are able to provide us with an image of the area or property that requires the scaffolding so we can get a clearer picture of the type of scaffolds required.

90% of the time we are able to provide you with a rough scaffold price over the telephone but on the odd occasion we may need to come out and have a quick look to ensure we are giving you the correct costings.

We would need the following information from you to be able to give you a complete scaffold price:

  •  Name.
  • Telephone number.
  • Location – Full address and postcode.
  • Timescales – When you would need the scaffold to go up.
  • Type of property and how many storeys does the building have.
  • Access – are there any restrictions that may delay our scaffolders erecting the structure.
  • Scaffolding hire period – how long will you need the scaffolds up for.

Yes, we like to ensure we are very reasonable with all our scaffolding prices and if you find at any point we are more expensive than a competitor please come back to us and we will be happy to look over our price.

It may work out very slightly cheaper purchasing the equipment but trying to erect a structure yourself is dangerous and not advised. The health and safety implications of this could be fatal and is against the law. This is why it is recommended you use a professional and qualified team of scaffolders like our scaffolding Brighton company who provide competitive scaffold prices and who are able to correctly erect a safe and secure structure for your works.

Again, this can be another dangerous way to work. If you are unable to access an area at height SAFELY from a ladder, then please do not try and do so, it is not only unsafe, but you can be fined for being unsafe and putting people at risk. So, a quick cheap fix could end up not only costing you in the pocket but can also cost people’s lives as well. SIMPLY DON’T DO IT!!!
